Demoniacs. Dublin 1988-1992. Street-crawlers and door bangers in the South
In the 1990's at the US Government's request,the Gardai and Irish Army, their hangers-on and various rich folk played out noisy police 'dramas' on the streets and adjacent apartments of the South of Ireland. There,the lessons of fascism's defeat were widely rejected. The Gardai procured the services of the Neighbourhood Watch against those who wanted democratic change and transparency in government. In my instance,these spies operated on a quick- alert basis, that of a watch committee on the South side of Dublin. Their activities were authorised by the police and gained the support and active assistance of the political canaille of the day such as Sinn Fein,the Workers Party. Often these street crawlers, pensioners and vigilantees acted out their reactionary street 'dramas' with inspired venom. Typical of their activities was the barrage of noise given off by Fine Gael and Fianna Fail types, Gardai and Irish Army types and their wives as unwary pedestrians...
