No country with any self-respect would vote for the commercial manager of musical groups. Reynolds gainsayed things which were simply not true. Peter Brooke played to the gallery when Reynolds approval was required. 

I am thinking in particular of the Downing Street Declaration. That nonsense was to be followed by New England parlour games with US politicians such as Clinton.

Basil Brooke's hyperbole about Britain having no selfish or strategic interest in remaining in Ireland was for the birds and bees as was Blair's rhetoric about England being solely concerned with peace.

 Even a fool such as myself can see that the English are the main  source of our problems,those people and the US Department of State and the Irish Department of Justice. 

The English sent the Scots settlers to police the Irish. A large majority of them have no intention of leaving Ireland and will have to be put out by the Army and the Gardai.

 Nor will the strangers in our midst part with the spoils of political engagements.

To guarantee permanent change,the English spy networks must be broken up and collaborators with British rule arrested and detained indefinitely. I am thinking in particular of former militants and Irish soldiers who work for the Home Office.

The inerudite scholar Blair inherited the Major- Reynolds legacy. He left an absolute shambles behind him. His tactic was the deployment of British troops in street games and occult artifice. (He received MoD money through his firm, Witchcraft Ltd.)

Historically,clerical tales led to English invasion plans of Ireland .(The Iraqi catastrophe was another example of this old media- military stratagem of conquest.)

Where do Free State politicians get their cookbook recipes from other than the arch conspirator and idle womaniser,Michael Collins?

His tawdry legacy remains with us today in that personage of MANIPULATION,Leo Varadkar.

My response to the Free State habit of playing one side off against another was keeping the fire moving in the one direction. (Brian Mc Cartney of the Department of the Taoiseach and Northern Ireland Office did endeavour to have me expelled from Queen's University and killed by John Mc Michael's hoods. I was being kept safe by the IRA until I graduated for my tour de force,the attack on Thatcher's backers).

It was Haughey and O Malley who coined the phrase of "subversive elements". The Gardai are probably the most backward- looking police force in the developed world. They were not far behind in venting their spleen.

Haughey learned to not speak his mind because nationalist militants enjoyed considerable support in his own party. As an ambitious politician,he "played it by ear" and ascended to leadership of Fianna Fail.

In the eighties the IRA's campaign slipped out of the control of Southern Military Intelligence. The republicans took on a life of their own. The turning point was the hunger strike of 1981.

Thatcher exerted diplomatic pressure on Haughey to become involved in underhand measures and covert policing from the earliest days of my experience of republican militancy in the South.The Gardai were well aware of the comings and goings of IRA men to Southern FCA training camps but there was no real overall policy on how to tackle the Northern insurgency and stop it spreading to the South. That was until the balloon went up over its main sponsor and international backer,the Soviet Union.The nails were firmly knocked in the coffin of the armed struggle by the collapse of communism.

The Soviet Union gone,the Southern Provos once again came under US and Irish Government hegemony and in the North,under the control of the British Government.
